This community service program aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of research ethics through a webinar-based educational initiative. Research ethics is an essential competency for students preparing to conduct scientific studies, particularly for undergraduate theses and other academic projects. The webinar, entitled Ethics in Research, was conducted online via Zoom Meeting on December 15, 2025, and was attended by students from various study programs and institutions. Program evaluation employed open-ended pretest and posttest instruments. Content analysis was conducted on the responses of 157 participants who completed both assessments. The results showed that the webinar enhanced participants’ ability to identify research ethics principles, particularly those that were previously less recognized. The greatest increases were found in non-discrimination (+14.0 percentage points), conflict of interest (+12.1), professional competence (+12.1), professional discipline (+10.2), informed consent (+9.6), and beneficence (+5.7). Integrity remained the most frequently identified principle, while privacy and confidentiality also remained highly recognized. These findings demonstrate the effectiveness of webinar-based education in improving students’ understanding of research ethics.
