JIPENDIKA: Jurnal Inovasi Pembelajaran dan Pendidikan

The journal and its editorial board fully adhere to and comply with the ethical guidelines and policies established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Duties of Editors

Publication Decisions

The editorial board of JIPENDIKA: Jurnal Inovasi Pembelajaran dan Pendidikan is responsible for making decisions regarding which manuscripts are selected for publication. These decisions are based on the manuscript’s relevance, quality, the reviewers’ recommendations, and compliance with applicable legal requirements, including those concerning defamation, copyright violations, and plagiarism. Editorial judgment is carried out impartially and is never influenced by the origin of the manuscript, such as the author's nationality, ethnicity, political beliefs, race, or religion.

Confidentiality, Disclosure, and Conflicts of Interest

Editors must maintain strict confidentiality throughout the review process. Manuscript details may only be shared with corresponding authors, peer reviewers, potential reviewers, and other editorial advisors when necessary. Unpublished materials from submitted manuscripts must not be used in an editor’s, reviewer’s, or any other individual’s research without written consent from the authors. Editors must also ensure that funding sources and the role of funders in the research are transparently disclosed to readers when applicable.

Author Relations

Editors are committed to ensuring a fair, unbiased, and timely peer review process. JIPENDIKA maintains clear policies regarding submissions from editorial board members to safeguard impartiality. The journal’s author guidelines clearly define criteria for authorship to maintain transparency and academic integrity.

Reviewer Relations

Reviewers are encouraged to address any ethical concerns and identify potential misconduct, such as data manipulation, plagiarism, unethical research methods, or redundant publication. Reviewer comments will be shared in full with authors, except when they contain offensive or defamatory remarks. JIPENDIKA acknowledges the contributions of reviewers and will discontinue collaboration with individuals who provide consistently low-quality, discourteous, or delayed reviews.

Quality Assurance

Editors must take all reasonable steps to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the published content. They are responsible for verifying ethical approval for research involving human or animal subjects when required and must remain attentive to issues related to intellectual property. Editors work closely with the publisher to address any legal or ethical issues. Any errors, inaccuracies, or misleading information identified after publication must be promptly corrected.

Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

The peer review process assists the editorial board in making informed publication decisions and helps authors improve their manuscripts through constructive feedback.

Promptness

Reviewers who feel unqualified to evaluate a manuscript or are unable to complete the review on time must notify the editor promptly and withdraw from the review process.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They may not be shared or discussed with others without explicit authorization from the editor.

Standards of Objectivity

Reviews must be conducted objectively and professionally. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate, and reviewers must substantiate their comments with clear arguments.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Reviewers must identify relevant previously published work that has not been cited by the authors and alert the editor to any substantial similarity between the manuscript under consideration and other known publications.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Information obtained during the peer review process must not be used for personal advantage. Reviewers must recuse themselves from evaluating manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.

Duties of Authors

Reporting Standards

Authors must present an accurate and objective account of their research. Data must be represented truthfully, and the manuscript must include sufficient details and references to allow replication. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements are unethical and unacceptable.

Data Access and Retention

Authors may be asked to provide raw data for editorial review and should be prepared to make the data publicly available when appropriate.

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that their work is original. Any use of others’ work must be appropriately cited or quoted. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable.

Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication

Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Such behavior is unethical and prohibited.

Acknowledgment of Sources

Proper acknowledgment of the work of others is required. All influential publications must be cited.

Authorship of the Paper

Authorship should be limited to those who have significantly contributed to the study. All co-authors must approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission.

Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects

Manuscripts involving hazardous materials or human/animal subjects must include clear identification of such elements and comply with ethical guidelines.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose potential conflicts of interest and funding sources.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works

If authors discover significant errors in their published work, they must notify the editor promptly and assist in correcting or retracting the paper.

Plagiarism Policies

JIPENDIKA enforces a strict anti-plagiarism policy. Any manuscript containing plagiarism—partial, complete, or involving duplicate/self-publication—will be rejected. Preprints are not considered duplicate publications. All manuscripts are screened using Turnitin, and those with unacceptable similarity levels will be rejected immediately.

Withdrawal of Manuscripts

Manuscripts may not be withdrawn after submission, as it wastes editorial and reviewer resources. However, if no editorial progress occurs after six months, authors may request withdrawal by formally notifying the Editorial Board.

Corrections, Expressions of Concern, and Retraction

Corrections require editor approval. Minor corrections will be incorporated into the article, while major corrections will be published alongside the original. Retractions follow COPE guidelines.

Conflict of Interest

All authors must disclose conflicts of interest. If none exist, authors must include the statement:
“The authors declare that they have no competing interests.”

Ethics and Consent for Human, Animal, and Plant Research

Research involving humans, animals, plants, or biological materials must include an ethics approval statement with committee name, approval number, and information about participant consent. Animal studies must follow recognized welfare guidelines.

Allegations of Misconduct

Plagiarism includes copying text, ideas, images, or data without proper attribution. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism will be rejected or retracted.

Fabricating or manipulating research data to mislead is strictly prohibited.

Manipulating data or results constitutes unethical behavior.

Duplicate Submissions

Submitting a manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously is considered misconduct. Secondary submissions or translations must be disclosed and approved.
