This study examines the implementation of an impact-oriented internship program and its contribution to students’ competence development in the industrial sector, with a case study at PT DSV Indonesia Solutions. The research focuses on the scope of internship implementation, the role of industry mentors, and the perceived impact of the program on students’ technical skills, soft skills, and work readiness. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of students’ learning experiences during the internship. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation involving internship students and industry supervisors. The findings indicate that the internship program was implemented in a structured manner, including orientation, task assignment, continuous supervision, and evaluation. The results show that the internship program positively affected students by enhancing technical competence, professional communication skills, teamwork ability, work discipline, and self-confidence. Moreover, students demonstrated a better understanding of industrial work culture and operational procedures after completing the internship. The study concludes that a well-managed internship program serves as an effective bridge between higher education and industry needs. Therefore, strengthening collaboration between universities and industry partners is essential to ensure that internship programs generate meaningful and sustainable learning outcomes for students’ future careers.
